My client is a hugely successful Cisco Gold partner and IT Managed Services Company and they have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced NOC Security Consultant.
The role of the NOC Security Consultant is to be the System Authority for customer's network and security devices. They provide 2nd line support and mentoring for the NOC 24x7 team, and are the escalation point for network faults. Your will be responsible for the proactive management of assigned customer networks, production of monthly observations and recommendations, and ensuring the assigned networks are working optimally.
Job Requirements:
Job Role and Expectations * Proactive management of Customer networks * Responsible for generation of observations and recommendations for network optimisation * Fault diagnosis on Customer networks, firewalls and other security devices * Responsible for configuration change management on security devices * Raising Customer trouble tickets with Service Providers and 3rd Parties for escalated faults * Generating regular customer reports * Mentoring junior staff for personal improvement * Required to work either early or late day between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs Monday to Friday * The willingness to partake in general availability and on-call rota Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a confident and natural people person, with good interpersonal skills and an ability to understand, diagnose, and manage customer networks, especially managed security offerings. The candidate will have performed similar tasks in other NOCs or through managing security devices. You must be confident dealing with all levels within a customer's business. The candidate must also demonstrate a willingness to develop and enhance the service offering.
Technical skills You should have skills in the following technologies: * Accredited security qualifications from Cisco, (CCSP, CCIE) * Security qualifications from Checkpoint * Experience in Firewall Management, Cisco PIX, ASA and/or Nokia Checkpoint * Bluecoat, Ironport and Qualys experience * Experience with Finjan configuration and management * Experience in leading security devices - AV, proxies, mail and web filtering * Understanding of RSA technology * Good Understanding of Cisco networking technology * Demonstrable ability to manage, diagnose, and upgrade configurations on firewalls * Security devices - upgrading of software, patching, security advisories * Experience in fault isolation and correction * Experience in network management packages, Spectrum, Nimbus, Prognosis, eHealth, HP Openview and Cisco Works * Familiar with SNMP and MIB configurations * Understanding of Microsoft applications and Operating Systems * Experience of fault management, escalation and Customer engagement * Understanding of MPLS * Experience with xDSL, Leased Lines, ISDN, and LES * Report Generation |
